My first Trip

Some important things happened in your childhood to keep in your mind forever.

Those special memories that characterize your infancy, and made your days the best you ever had.
Some people remember their special moments in their childhood with his/her first day of class. When he/she used his/her bike for the first time. For me a special moment that I will always remember clearly is my fist trip.

It was during my vacation, and I was only 10 years old. My father told me that we would go to Los Angeles. Truly, I was very happy to know another place, and to go for the first time on an airplane. A big smile formed in my face. My nerves were growing steadily until the day finally arrived. I felt that week as eternal, but finally the big day had arrived.

I felt so nervous that day. There were butterflies in my stomach and I almost could not sleep all night. I did not know how it felt to travel in an airplane. I went with my uncle, my father and my sister. I have to admit that at first I was afraid of the take off, but then I became used to it and began to love seeing the city from above.

When we arrived, we went to my aunt’s house. I had difficulty sleeping because I was waiting for the next day to have fun.

The next day was a very special day. We woke up early so we would have time to enjoy the entire day. The first thing we did was to go to Universal Studios. I really I liked this place, and my favorite game in there was Jurassic park. At night I was really exhaustive but I liked everything we did during that day.

The others two days we went shopping. I was not interested in this. Because I really wanted to go to other places with rollers coasters and fun attractions. Finally I enjoyed those days because my uncle was always making me laugh. By means of his antics, he made the day seem short and more enjoyable.

The next day, the big dream came true. We went to Disneyland. I was really impressed. I liked Disney a lot. I used my day to get on as many games as possible. If it were up to me, I would have stayed there forever. It was the most amazing experience I have ever had. Really, for a girl who is only ten years old, Disneyland is a dream world. And for me everything impressed me more and more, and I saw everything more special as I continued.

For me, the best day was when we went to Magic Mountain. This place was amazing! Really, I do not know how to describe this place and the feelings that I had inside me.
It was the first time that I climbed in a roller coaster. I really like the energy that I felt when I was on the ride. I only wanted to go onto the most extreme games. Because they were so amazing and I felt so free, I believed that my energy had increased.

Those were the most wonderful days in my life. I will never forget the first time I travel in an airplane and of course went to Disneyland.

The Weather

Weather is an important part of our lives. Every day is different because of the conditions. It is consisted of cold, warm, rainy, snowy, hot and grey days. It is an important fact that makes us feel the way we do during the day. I believe that majority of the time our feelings are base on the current weather conditions. Some people might feel good when they see rain, but the majority feel sad and down during this type of climate. When people see the sun out and the temperature is nice, they usually walk to work.

I like summer days, when the weather is warm and sunny. This is the perfect time to have a party, have a picnic, go to the pool, or simply rock in a hammock. During this time I feel happy, with more energy and more relaxed. I enjoy the day, watching the blue sky, and if I am lucky, I am able to see a rainbow. There is nothing like waking up and seeing the sun coming through my window. It is a good sensation and it makes me begin my day well.

Another weather that I am fond of would be the rainy days. Those days makes you feel sometimes sad or depressed. But it makes you want to stay at home and enjoy a nice hot cup of something sitting in front your T.V. and enjoying the day with yourself. I believe that the nights with rain are the best, because the shower calms you down. I cover myself and listened to the rain fall, making me drop into a deep sleep.

Sometimes I try that the weather does not affect me in how I feel. For example, when you have a good day but it suddenly begins to rain. I try not to have this ruin my attitude.

A good model of how can the weather affects you is when in your sweet fifteen parties and it begins to rain. Some people might see this as something negative, but at the end of the day the important thing is to enjoy yourself and not worry about the climate conditions.

My Best Friend

I will always remember how and when I meet my friend. Some people believe that there is no such thing as a true pal. I though the same until…

It was the first day of classes and I was starting the fourth grade. It seemed to be just a regular school beginning. Nothing out of the ordinary year start.

You can imagine how usual a first day is, especially in the fourth grade. Everyone was, of course, talking about everything they had done during their vacation time. Some stories were better than others, and some just so unbelievable. I still think of those people and wonder if story was the truth. Nevertheless, interesting and a real attention getter.

Suddenly there was a sound every child, and some adults, love to hear. This sound is maybe the most expected noise of the day. No, I am not talking about the dismissal bell but the recess one. I imagine we are somewhat condition to begin feeling a little unpleasantly excited, a bit hungry, and for some cases slightly salivated. As Ivan Pavlov would say that his dogs were conditioned, I believe that in some ways small bell he used has the same effect on us than the school’s when it rings.

Anyway, back to my story. It was recess time and I was sitting alone because I consider myself a shy person. And as you might know, timid people are not usually surrounded by friends. As I was thinking about a million things, I heard a voice in the distance. Could it be that someone was actually talking to me. Or was it someone trying to say something to a person that looked like me? Even though, I thought  it wasn’t for me, I would at least have to tell the girl that she had the wrong person.

Again I heard the voice calling to me. Could this really be for me? Could this person actually want to talk to me? Doesn’t this person know who I am? Doesn’t this girl know that I am not popular? Doesn’t she know that I do not have many friends? Could it be possible? All of these thoughts run through anybody’s head, especially when you are a kid trying to fit in a world that seems to be so complicated.

As I saw the person approaching, I could see her coming closer. So, I realized that it was for me. Now, many more questions run through my mind. Suddenly, my train of thought was interrupted by a simple “Hello, my name is…”

It is amazing sometimes how we can’t remember the ordinary events in our lives, but we can always recall the special ones. Everyone has those extraordinary moments when we feel unique and singular. Those few seconds that change our future in an instant, making our lives a much better place.

The first thing I noticed was her two pigtails holding her brown shiny hair and a very joyful expression on her face. We were approximately the same height and wore the similar uniforms, as if it mattered. Her big brown eyes told me she was an honest person. You can tell a lot from a person just by looking into their eyes. Someone once said that they are the gateway to the soul.

After a very informal introduction, we began making questions to each others about everything that we could think of. From things like, “What so you like?” to “Where do you live?”. Every time, getting a little bit more personal and of course more intimate.  I guess we ask questions to get to know someone, but I guarantee that never in a million years will we ever get to know someone perfectly.

As we were exchanging information, I noticed she sat down next to me. It is important that the person who is to become your best friend make you feel comfortable. Even in an uncomfortable situation. So as we continued talking, she invited me to sit next to her in class. This was new to me. Did this person want to be my friend? Why was she so nice?  Like everyone, many thoughts go running around in your head and of course you must be careful not to say them out loud because obviously you do not want to offend anyone, especially someone trying to be your friend.

A Place you Don't know

Moving from one city to another, from one school to another, and the house is very difficult to get used to another environment you're used.
For me, changing school was something that cost me used to it. Because I am shy and find it hard to trust people to show who I am.
I felt very nervous to get to my new school, because when you get to a new place you try to fit in and get used to the new location.
when I change the school, at first I feel strange and that I didn't fit there.
At the beginning of the year, I was always shy and did not show who I really was, I think it was fear, fear that if I showed who I really was, I did not fit there.
Over the year, things happened to me which made me think that I definitely did not belong there.
I felt bad, frustrated, not knowing what to do, not have anyone who can help me.
I never liked move to a new place because I do not know how to react to this situation.
Be the new and not have someone familiar to talk to and get used to where I'm going to have to live it is very difficult for me.
Now I have some amazing friends to share with, talk to who support me and understand me. Although at first it was hard to get used to always do.
To change school I have new friends, but also I leave behind the friendships that I had before, and I learned that the distances and the changes left behind by things that were very important to you.
change is good, but it has bad things. for example, I change my school I win more confidence for me and new friends, but also lost friends who were and remain important to me. So I think for me this change was very hard because I lost important friendships. But I realized who are my real friends, since friendship remains of the distance.
If there are times I'd wish go back with my friends, my old place, but everything happens for a reason. I think I'm good right here with this change.
And I know that change of place is very easy for some people, as difficult for others.
There are people who are used to move from one place to another. But for me the important thing is to adapt well to these changes in place.
For example, when you change your home, you have to get used to your new room your new surroundings.
if you change schools, you have to get used to the people who will share day by day.
and if you change your country, you have to get used to the culture and adapt to it.
And I know that when you change your place, you'll always have something that you miss.
For example: 4 years ago, my dad had the possibility to study in Argentina for a year, my dad took the opportunity and took us with him. That was the first time I got a place that did not know, try to adapt to something new (I think from there started my fear of being new at something). The truth was a unique experience to go to Argentina, know that place, and adapt to their culture, I already spoke with an Argentine accent. Was an experience I will never forget and I would like that to happen again.
as I said when you move to another place you do not know and try to fit in, I learned that you have to adapt to how you can, as they always have to make changes and move on where you're used.
So remember do not be afraid to change you to another place, regardless of who is a place you don't know.
